Android privacy policy

Summary

Bias Radio does not require an account and Firebase Analytics is disabled. The app contains no advertising, and we do not sell personal information. It processes only the information needed for streaming, track information and optional notifications.

Information processed

• Streaming and technical information: Our streaming infrastructure may process your IP address, app/device type, selected stream, connection time and standard request information to deliver and secure the stream and produce listener statistics.
• Optional listener name: A name entered in Settings is stored on your device and sent with stream requests to the Bias Radio server, where it may appear in AzuraCast listener reports. Leaving it empty uses a generic app name.
• Optional notification token: If live DJ notifications are enabled, the app sends a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token and notification preference to the Bias Radio push server. The token identifies an app installation, not a Bias Radio account.
• Local preferences: Stream, buffer, listener-name and notification settings are stored locally on the device.

External services

The app uses AzuraCast/Bias Radio infrastructure for audio and metadata, Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, Apple search services and Discogs for album artwork. Opening YouTube or social-media links is optional and is governed by the destination service's privacy policy.

Retention and security

Local preferences remain until changed or the app is removed. Notification tokens are retained while alerts are enabled and can be removed when notifications are disabled or a token becomes invalid. Operational server records are kept only as reasonably necessary for streaming, security, troubleshooting and station reporting. API and push-server communication uses HTTPS.

Your choices and rights

You can omit the listener name, disable notifications and delete local information by uninstalling the app. Depending on your location, including under the GDPR, you may request access, correction or deletion and may object to or restrict certain processing.

Children

The app is a general-audience radio player and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
