Bias Radio Android support

Requirements

Bias Radio requires Android 8.0 or later and an active internet connection. The ARM64 APK is correct for almost every current phone.

APK installation

• Download the APK only from the official Bias Radio Android page.
• Open the file and allow “Install unknown apps” for your browser or file manager if Android asks.
• Install updates directly over the existing app. You do not need to uninstall the previous version.
• If Android reports that the app cannot be installed, try the 32-bit build offered on the download page.

Playback and background audio

• On an unstable connection, select Mobile or increase the stream buffer in Settings.
• Allow Bias Radio to run in the background if your phone has aggressive battery restrictions.
• If your manufacturer stops playback, exclude Bias Radio from battery optimisation.
• The persistent media notification provides Play and Pause controls during playback.

Live DJ notifications

• Enable Notify me when a live DJ starts in Bias Radio Settings.
• On Android 13 or later, allow notification permission.
• Check Settings → Apps → Bias Radio → Notifications and enable the Live DJ alerts channel.
• Do not use Force stop; Android blocks background messages for force-stopped apps until they are opened again.
• Only a live DJ connection triggers an alert. AutoDJ and song changes do not.
