iOS privacy policy

Summary

Bias Radio does not require an account and does not include advertising or third-party analytics. We do not sell personal information. The app processes only the information needed to stream audio, show track information and deliver optional notifications.

Information processed

• Streaming and technical information: When the app connects to Bias Radio, our streaming infrastructure may process your IP address, app/device type, selected stream, connection time and standard server request information. This is necessary to deliver and secure the stream and to produce station listener statistics.
• Optional listener name: If you enter a listener name in Settings, it is stored on your device and sent with stream requests to the Bias Radio streaming server, where it can appear in AzuraCast listener reports. Leaving the field empty uses a generic app name.
• Optional notification token: If you enable live DJ notifications, the app sends an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token and your notification preference to the Bias Radio push server. The token identifies an app installation, not a Bias Radio user account.
• Local preferences: The selected stream, buffer settings, listener name and notification choice are stored locally on your device.

External services

The app uses AzuraCast/Bias Radio infrastructure for audio and metadata, Apple Push Notification service for notifications, Apple search services and Discogs for album artwork. When you choose to open YouTube or a social-media link, that external service receives the request under its own privacy policy.

Retention and security

Local preferences remain until you change them or remove the app. A notification token is retained while notifications are enabled and may be removed when you disable notifications or when it becomes invalid. Operational server records are kept only as reasonably necessary for streaming, security, troubleshooting and station reporting. We use encrypted HTTPS connections for app API and push-server communication.

Your choices and rights

You can leave the listener-name field empty, disable notifications at any time and remove locally stored information by uninstalling the app. Depending on your location, including under the GDPR, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal information and object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

The app is a general-audience radio player and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
