Web app privacy policy

Summary

The Bias Radio web app requires no account, uses no advertising and does not include third-party analytics. We do not sell personal information. The web app does not use tracking cookies.

Information processed

• Streaming and technical information: Our web and streaming servers may process your IP address, browser/device type, selected stream, connection time and standard request information to provide and secure the service and produce station statistics.
• Optional web push subscription: If you enable live DJ notifications, your browser creates a push subscription containing an endpoint and encryption keys. The web app sends that subscription and your notification preference to the Bias Radio push server.
• Session and language preferences: The selected stream and playback intent may be stored in browser session storage, while your interface-language choice may be kept in local storage. This information remains on your device and is not used for advertising.

External services

The web app uses AzuraCast/Bias Radio infrastructure for audio and metadata, your browser's push service for notifications, and Apple search services and Discogs for album artwork. YouTube and social-media pages open only when you choose their links and operate under their own privacy policies.

Retention and security

A web push subscription is retained while alerts remain enabled and may be removed when you unsubscribe or when the endpoint becomes invalid. Session preferences expire with the browser session; the language choice can be removed by clearing browser data. Operational server records are kept only as reasonably necessary for streaming, security, troubleshooting and station reporting. The web app and its API communication use HTTPS.

Your choices and rights

You can disable notifications using the button in the web app or through browser settings. You can clear local information through your browser or remove the installed web app. Depending on your location, including under the GDPR, you may request access, correction or deletion and may object to or restrict certain processing.

Children

The web app is a general-audience radio player and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
